Something Vibrating in Face and Head

I've been to one neurologist and he basically just said I'm "stressed" and sent me home.

The truth is I'm not very stressed, or depressed, or anything like that. I'm just miserable from feeling this way all the time.

I get vibrations (literally, like a massager) inside my face, head, neck, and sometimes (but more rarely) shoulders. Sometimes it feels more like pricklies, but usually it feels like a full-out vibrator (like putting your head on a refrigerator) and its it drastic spurts. I get them the most laying down and sitting or leaning, and the least standing up.

Its as if after I stop moving, something in my head still is and takes a while to stop. When it does stop, I feel sore and weak from it. But then a few minutes later it just starts again, then stops. Then starts again.

I'm getting headaches, maybe migraines, from it. My vision is poorer (not much blurrier or anything drastic -- but a lot more after-images a LOT more) but definitely poorer. I also get a little dizzy from it (not room-spin dizzy but --- this kind of in-and-out dizzy).

Tried 800mg Advils, Skelaxin (a muscle relaxant), and even Klonopin (which did make me feel better mentally but didn't stop vibrations at all) --- nothing nothing nothing. It just continue and continues and it's getting unbearable. I get no rest because its the worst when I'm trying to rest.

I could deal with it so much better if someone even gave me a guess at what it might be.

I get them 24 hr/day.

In my opinion this vibration have to be related to some deficiency of GABA in the brain, i have read the L-Theanine helps but i haven't try it yet.

I get the same vibrations in face, head, some times my legs, and some times light headed, the only thing that helps my feel better is camomile tea or other tea that calms the nerves and mind.

Hi. Long before a core of findings revealed the source of my primary health issues, I also had very similar symptoms.  My neurologist reached the same conclusions about me and prescribed Lexapro, which made me very sick (I stopped three days later).

I described my vibration issue as "microscopic/tissue-level" vibration in my face, lips, and scalp, as if my face tissue was being shaken in the manner that a paint can "shaker" mixes paint (extremely fast oscillation, yet in a small/confined area).  As the shaking grew faster, over a 3 - 5 minute period, I would grow very sleepy, then fall asleep for usually between 12 and 20 minutes.  My symptoms never included any pain.

Findings in my case, so far, include a syrinx (at shoulder-level), pituitary function @ 10% of normal, low-cortisol (40% of normal), CPK at 3x normal, vitamin D at 25% of normal, low thyroid function, low platelets, and testosterone at 60% of normal.

Good luck with your issues and your research.  I will check back here periodically.
