Carotid artery vasospasm and memory impairment

Hi,

It has been almost 4 years since I started to suffer from tinnitus (it has never stopped ringing since then), memory impairment, tension in the brain, difficulty to analyse information. recently i did a transcranial dopplerography and was told that my carotid arteries were spasmatic and there was increased blood flow velocity running into my head and decreased venous flow which causes my current symptoms. I have been done MRI scan few times for my head and my neck. All results are normal. Doctors find it difficult to diagnose. Does anyone have an idea of what it can be?

P.S I am only 26 years old.

I have done a audiometry twice both of which came back normal. My memory impairment is not the kind that can be improved by memory teasers. It sometimes gets so bad that I even feel difficult to make sentences. I have done MRI three times for my brain at different times and once for cervical area to check for any compression. All results were normal.
I guess it might  be caused by three reasons preceeding my symptoms:

1) heavy neck exercises
2) heavy stress for about a month
3) smoking marijuana (only once)

I have also done transcranial dopplerography to check for the state of my blood vessels. The first time all came back normal, but the second time the results said that i have an increased blood flow velocity in my carotid arteries. One more issue that is worrying me is that for a period of 1.5 years I have had low hemoglobin levels, although hemoglobin level was not low at the time my symptoms started.

Looking forward to your help.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

Perception of abnormal ear or head noises is termed as TINNITUS. Persistent tinnitus usually indicates the presence of sensory hearing loss. Intermittent periods of mild, high-pitched tinnitus lasting for several minutes are common in normal hearing persons.  As it is persisting check with your doctor to rule out inner ear disorders. As for memory impairment, you could try a lot of ‘brain teasers’ to improve your memory functions. And do get adequate sleep; it’s supposed to improve cognitive functions.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
