Need some peer support

I am having brain wave testing to prep me for brain surgery in the near future.  I have a cavernous hemangioma located in my right temporal lobe and I hoping there is someone out there that has been through this or is going through this.  I just want to talk to someone post operative or currently in my shoes.  Please if anyone has any insight on this type of brain surgery it sure would help calm my nerves to hear someone elses story. Thanks.

Erin..U r welcome and I do understand ur fears and concerns.There is a forum for Brain pituitary ( sp) ...I am sure u may find others there that have gone thru this.

If not there are members in the chiari forum that have had the decompression surgery which is brain surgery...it is a whole other area, but if u donot find others in the brain pituitary forum...stop by chiari or PM me.

Thank you for your response, I am trying to just get past the horrifying thought of brain surgery and it is hard to do that.  I have a great group of Nuero's whom I trust a lot it is just the possible issues of memory, speech and personality loss that I may suffer that terrifies me.  I have two babies and I just want to be healthy for them but it is all sooooo scary.  I appreciate your comment and thanks for listening :)

Hi...I can not relate on this issue completely, but I have chiari malformation which I am a candidate for surgery which is brain surgery.

I do not have mine scheduled as the dr wants to do anothe rsurgery first on my spinal cord.

I wish I could help other to say to use the medhelp search top right of the screen...u may find others that have had this particular type of surgey.

I pray all goes well...and am will to listen if u need someone to talk to.
