Thigh down to the legs getting thinner

Hi! I need your help. Im 40 years old male and diabetic almost 6 years. My question is my thigh down to my legs are getting thinner. I used to have nice big butt and legs but I notice recently that they getting smaller. Does it has something to do with my diabetes. I also remember my uncle said one time diabetic patient will get their butt smaller or thinner? Appreciate your response soon. I'm very much worried about it.
Regards,
allan

Hi,

The muscles are thinning due to the body carry extra abdominal weight. Fixing this issue is simple but you have to follow the requirements. I noticed this as a very common problem. The culprit is Cortisol, a stress hormone. So all you need is to de-stress the body, by mainly getting enough sleep and doing a daily 30 minute walk. Clean diet is a must! Please watch Dr. Eric Berg on Youtube, he has videos on this issue. Good luck!

Hello Allan1967
Atrophy of muscles may take place in Diabetic amyotrophy which  is a disabling illness that is distinct from other forms of diabetic neuropathy. It is characterized by weakness followed by wasting of pelvifemoral muscles, either unilaterally or bilaterally, with associated pain. Sensory impairment is minimal in the cutaneous distribution sharing the same root or peripheral nerve as affected musculature. Most commonly, the onset is in middle age or later, although it may occur in youth. A concomitant distal predominantly sensory neuropathy may be present. Electrodiagnostic studies confirm the diagnosis. As the glucose levels increase the condition may aggravate. It is necessary that you keep your blood glucose levels maintained.
