Post Concussion Syndrome

I was in a MVA Sept 2007. I have a grade 3 concussion. I have now had PCS for 6 months. Dr's say i'm looking at 1 year before i recover.  I have major sleep problems, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, bad balance, headaches, memory problems,no sense of smell, sensitivity to light and noise, very poor concentration. Everything is a huge effort.  I try pushing myself but that only has made me so frusturated I turn into a monster!  I'm looking for some advice from someone who has gone through this. Do i really have to go through this for another 6 months?

My 13yo is 1year post concussion still with all the symptoms you described and not in school. AND has a cyst on her pituitary gland. She'll be doing more blood work and seeing a neurosurgeon. Do they think your tumor is related to the concussion? Is there a connection to the symptoms? Just read that the symptoms are similar to those of a concussion. thanks.

Do you still have PCS symtoms now?  I don't have to many people thinking i'm being over dramatic, cause my eyes go wacky.  I had a CT scan which was normal, they said a CTor a MRI would show nothing.  I was told to see a phycholigist to help me cope, but
I would rather talk to someone who has gone through this.  Theres nothing like experience!  Thanks for your advice, its helpful nowing someone else has had to deal with this for a long time also.  All the best to you!

I had a grade 2 concussion from a college soccer accident. it took me up to 6 months to "fully recover" (in the dr's eyes). Ever since the accident i have dealt with concentration problems, headaches, sleep apnea, memory problems. I am 24 yrs old and at the time of my accident 21. I hope you have better luck. i have recently been diagnosed w/ a pituitary tumor. i felt exactly how you did for such a long time. ppl act as though you are faking or being over dramatic and you try your hardest to make thru the day. BE STRONG. find someone to talk to if you have too. if you'd like, try a second opinion - maybe with a different neurologist. have you had an MRI?? good luck!!
