Recurrent left frontal Meningioma (meningiothelial and fibroblastic meningioma)

This is for my sister (40 yr) who got operated for brain tumour second time. The tumour was first detected when she had severe headache, vomited and was unconscious for some time in July 2005. Immediately she had her first surgery after consulting sergeon. At that point MRI revealed tumour hyperdense enhancing lesion left frontal lobe measuring 4.9x4.5 cm. Post surgery she was advised to have Tegretal (which she is still taking).

Last December 06 she again started having sever headache. Not feeling encouraged and we consulted the same surgeon but told nothing to be concerned. During February mid she showed more symptoms like unconsciously urinating in bed and Within 10 days she started loosing strength of her right leg. Emergency CT scan revealed hyperdense (HU 42 to 56) lesion antero superiorly in the middle line. It was measuring about 4.8 x 5.7 x 0.6 cm. It was suggestive of recurrence of the lesion. To be notated that this was the first CT scan after her first surgery. Had it been done during her follow up visits we feel the second time tumour wouldn

Try to post your question on the board where the Cleveland Clinic doctors reply.  Hard to get in there, but keep trying. They may be able to respond to some of your complicated questions.  Maybe she should try and get in at a large teaching hospital like Cleveland Clinic, MD Anderson or Mayo.  There are many good ones all over the country so you could try for one close to her.  I long for the days that all I had to worry about are the silly things.  Best of luck in your quest for help.
