Sharp pain in head during workout

So I just started working out regularly again after about three months. I started early last week, but a couple of days ago, mid set on a shoulder press, I got a severe head pain around the back/top part of my head. After about 30 seconds, the pain subsided a good bit. However, for the rest of the day I still felt kind of lightheaded, and the next day I was a little out of it. Today I felt fine, so I thought I'd try working out again. About four exercises in, it happened again, severe pain in the same area. However, this time my head hurt for a while after, and still has kind of a throbbing thing going on. Everyone I've talked to thinks I wasn't breathing properly, but I've worked out pretty consistently for the past several years, so I don't think this is the problem.

I don't know if this detail is relevant, but I was lifting a heavier weight than I probably should have been in the exercise before that one, at least for someone who hadn't really worked out in a while.

Anybody ever experienced anything like this? After having the same thing happen again today I'm getting kind of worried

Hi!
Exercise can be a trigger of migraine which will cause headache and nausea. Exercise can also trigger electrolyte imbalance, dehydration, spinal problems (pinched nerves) etc all of which can cause headache and nausea. Your blood pressure too can shoot up with exercise and cause these symptoms. Alternatively, your blood pressure can drop with exercise and cause headache. Please discuss with your doctor. This needs to be investigated. Please avoid exercising until you have seen your doctor. Take care!
