Sinus Pain?

Hi Ive never written a comment on something like this before but the doctors Ive been to, havent seemed to be very helpful. Ok so im a 20 year old female living in canada, and i have been having this strange pain in the back right side of my head. Everytime i swallow it hurts. If I **** my head to the left and stretch my neck while opening my mouth, my ear will pop and it sort of relieves the pain in my head. Is this sinus related or is it more serious? Thanks a bunch!

Hi,

This could be mastoiditis and is related to your eustachian tube.

Have you seen an ENT specialist or your doctor for your symptoms? Do you have any associated symptoms of pain, discharge, fever, etc?

'Mastoiditis is an infection of the mastoid process, the portion of the temporal bone of the skull that is behind the ear. It is usually caused by untreated acute otitis media (middle ear infection) .'

You could read more about the condition at the following links -

Let us know about how you are doing and if you have any other doubts.

Post us about what your doctor advises.

Regards.

This sounds like pain from the middle ear which can be felt thoughout the same side of the face.  Pain on swallowing may indication middle ear or eustachian tube inflammation.  Do you have a fever?  Any swelling in your face or behind your ear?

In general it doesn't sound serious, but if it's been persistent for a while I'd have someone check you.

Good luck, Quix
