hi, doctor i was recently diagnosed with oromandibular dystonia which really affects my speech, chewing, and swallowing, ive been on many sorts of drugs such as Trihexyphenidyl (benzexhol, Artane), and then a trial of levodopa as sinement, im currently on clonazepam. There has been no improvement whatsoever my neurologist now suggests that i get botulinum toxin injections i really dont know as to whether they will help, kindly advise
My mother is suffering from head tremor and pain in head and neck. MRI report reveal that it is Cervical Dystonia. Neurology Doctor has been prescribe Tab. Revocon. Is it the right treatment ?

From the symptoms that you have mentioned, it appears that your chils suffers from a juvenile myoclonic epilepsy (JME, a form of seizure). The drug treatment being offered to him includes valproate (desval), clonazepam (rivotril), and tetrabenazine (revocon). These are the standard therapies for the treatment of JME. The effects of these medications takes some time to appear. How long has your son been taking these medications?
You could consult your doctor and in case these medications are not being that effective, other alternative medicines like lamotrigine could be used.
