Spinal cord tumor and brain tumor

Hi to all,

Am a 30 years old male with an intramedullary tumor at T10 T12.I have found my tumor(mri) at 27 and have done a surgery (laminectomy).My doctor say he couldnt touch the tumor or else i get paralysed.By that time (3years back)i have no suffecient information about these kind of deseases.It was a ganglioglioma and astrocytoma grade 1.Recently i started hearing about that neurophisiological device which allow resection of tumors with high success and cyberknife radiation.I whould apreciate if some one have done a successfull resection which help him in reducing pain.Posting successfull cases will give me hope.On the other hand i have find by mri newly (1 month back) that i have a tectal glioma.Regarding tectal glioma i have no symptomes yet (tectal glioma is brain tumor at midbrain) Doctors advice to watch and see.I feel not lucky at all to have both tumors.I hear about gamma knife on youtube that it will treat brain tumors.If some one too have gone with successful tectal glioma resection please share your story here to give me more hope.

Hi there!

Yes, there have been recent advances with technology that would help increase precision in a surgery and reduce the overall risk; though without knowing the relevant clinical details it would be difficult to comment if a resection would be possible/ required in your case. I would suggest considering a detailed evaluation by a neurosurgeon preferably at a university/ teaching hospital for suggestion of an appropriate management plan.
