Syrinx c-6 c7

Syrinx or not? the MRI axials measure 2mm in diameter, length is 16mm long. I just noticed numbness at the c7 spinous process and over a 3 week timeframe I have developed stiffness in my neck, and a slight loss of sensation on my right upper back. No sharp pains, no headache, no cold/heat loss sensation.

Anyone have a syrinx that is 2mm in diameter? has it gotten worse over time?

Hi...I am not a Dr, but it does look look like u have a syrinx from other photo's of syrinx's I have seen.

We do have a forum here on MedHelp where others with syringomyelia share their info and support.

Hi there. A syrinx is a fluid filled cavity within the spinal cord called syringomyelia or brain stem called syringobulbia. Predisposing factors include craniocervical junction abnormalities, spinal cord trauma, spinal cord tumors. Symptoms could be flaccid weakness of hands and arms and deficits in pain and temperature sensation in a cape like distribution over the back and neck. Light touch and position and vibration sensation are not affected. Diagnosis is by MRI. Treatment includes correction of the cause and surgical procedure to drain the syrinx or otherwise open CSF flow. Usually result from lesions that partially obstruct the CSF flow. syringomyelia is a paramedian irregular longitudinal cavity beginning in the cervical area and extending downward along the entire length of the spinal cord. syringomyelia begins insidiously in the centre of the spinal cord causing central cord syndrome. It causes weakness, atrophy, and fasciculations and hyporeflexia of hands and arms, a deficit in pain and temperature sensation in a capelike distribution over shoulders, arms and back. Later spastic leg weakness may develop. Deficits may be assymetrical. Consult your neurologist for further management. Take care.
