Tics/Twitches/Constant Movement/Headaches

Hello. For the last several years,  I have had a twitch/tic, that has gotten steadily worse over time. It is very obvious to anyone around me, but no one says anything. My head violently jerks, usually to the left side. I cannot fully turn my head to the right with it violently jerking back to the left. Along with this, I am unable to sit still at all. I am constantly moving/fidgeting. I try to suppress the twitch/tic, but the longer I do, the more it seems to build up, and it feels as if an explosion is about to take places in my head. I also suffer from extreme headaches. Sometimes, it feels as like there is a rubber band being squeezed around my head. I also get severe burning sensations in my head as well. This has lead to my inability to work, attend school, or frequently leave my home. This has also caused a depression, that I don't share with anyone. I'm not sure what to do, or who to talk to. I went to my doctor, he looked at me weird, and just brushed it off with a headache prescription. Can someone please help?

Thank you both johnnymutt and theasian. I appreciate your advice and concern. I am going to be looking into finding another neurologist to see what help I can get. This has become an intolerable situation, making it absolutely impossible to perform the simplest of tasks like crossing the street. If anyone else has anymore information, it would be greatly appreciated as I'm completely in the dark as to what is happening to me.

Tourette's - where you feel an urge to do something (in your case it's to twitch) and after you do it you get this sensation that's almost like a sense of relief.
Myoclonus - you have uncontrollable muscle jerks the whole time as a result of your muscles contracting and then relaxing. No matter how hard you try to supress them they just continue. Can be caused by many different things like trauma, vitamin difficiences, tumours, diseases or infections or sometimes can just be benign.
Tics - almost like myoclonic jerks except you can control the jerks to a certain extent. This seems like the most likely possibility to me.
Your best bet would be to go to a neurologist so they can do a full examination and try find out what is wrong then treat it. hope you get some answers soon.
Take care

As far as the twitches and such goes, it really sounds like Tourettes to me. I have had Tourettes since I was 4yrs old. The more you try to supress it, the worse it seems to come out. It can be a nuisance at times, and at other times, darn out right painful. I have been dealing with it, without medications my whole life, but due to another problem, I am going to start taking meds for it today, called Orap. I'll let you know how it works out. I would suggest trying to get into a good Neuro Psychiatrist or a Neurologist, if your doc dosen't seem to be having a clue. You might mention Tourettes to him/her, and even bring in some info about the syndrome.

Good luck, and keep us updated.
