Thank you for your quick response, I appreciate it. I'm afraid the answer you gave did not help.....sorry. I had an ulnar nerve laceration, and the connective tissue was sutured together by a specialist. It has now been nearly four years and I still have no feeling or function, although, there have been some slight improvements with some dexterity. I think other muscles are trying to make up for the loss. The injury happen when I was 50 years old. Is it possible for the original nerves to reconnect to the muscles in the hand? My original question to you was....
"Can ulnar nerve function return after being repaired with a suture after laceration at the elbow and can muscle atrophy in the hand be reversed if the nerves reconnect?"  I have absolutely no pain at all....its more of a phantom / ghost pain or sensation.

Hi, Thank you for your question. Ulnar nerve damage could be result in pain, burning sensations, numbness, and weakness at the affected skin/muscles around the nerve. Treatment includes use of steroids and pain killers. Another option could be surgery, and it involves suturing of nerve. Hope this helps.
