Mollerett's Meningitis

In February of 2007 I was hospitalized with bacterial meningitis. This year alone I have had four bouts of viral meningitis all occuring every month. My neurologist finally diagnosed me (through many spinal taps and MRI's) with Mollerett's meningitis. He said it is rare and there is no treatment. Does anyone know where I can get more information about this. I am emotionally and physically worn down and need help.

Hi,

Since an association has been worked out between herpes simplex infections and mollaret’s meningitis antiviral agents like Acycylovir are used for treatment. Apart from this strengthening of the immune system and pain management are the treatment options.

I have had Mollarets for 6 years and am certainly not fine, continue with meningitis episodes. If there is a hard to find treatment,what is it? Also,Pyxlie, how are you?

u need to keep your immune system high, its a type of meningitis that hides, hmm there is treatment but its hard to find dont worry though u will be fine, add glutamine in your diet.
