I have a history of intracranial hypertension and sarcoidosis although I hadn't had any flares in quite sometime. I'd been working an average of 55 hours a week when 2 months ago I had a spell at work where I felt faint and had extreme pressure in my head. I am a quality inspector so nothing too strenuous but not an easy job either. I had been continuously on diamox to control my pressure but it felt like it was failing . I went to the er and my LP opening pressure was 15 so they told me to stop my diamox and said my IIH was in remission. They did nothing for the pain and pressure. It is absolutely horrible pain and I have been unable to work for the last 3 weeks now. My right eye is bulging and my face is swollen obviously larger than the left. I had an mri on Friday. As with every test I get, I brought home a copy for myself. The report says its "normal" but I can see an obvious difference in the size of my eyes and see that my right eye is being pushed out farther. If my opening pressure is normal and my IIH is no longer active what could be causing this? I went to my eye doctor last week and my optic nerve pressure looks good. I'm at my wits end. I'm in such severe pain and yet they call it "normal".
