ALS

Hello to all, I am a 32 yr old Irag vet, and was in the first rotation to go to Iraq.
The past couple of years, I have been experiencing leg pain, and is recently getting worse, in which I have to walk sometimes with a cane.
When I walk, my toes curl up and start cramping.  I noticed that my big toes were purple one day when I took a bath, and the past few months at least once a day, or more, my hand curls up, and is very much painful.  I am hoping that someone can help.  I currently see neurology at the VA, but they say nothing is wrong, and because I am only 32 yrs old, that I am too young.  I also have high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
With the research I have done, my symptoms fall in the lines of ALS.  Can someone please let me know, if there is a chance I could be on the right track?  I would appreciate this.

The regular blood test for magnesium will show the level of mag in the blood.
The level of magnesium within the muscle and nerve cells can be lower than it should, and it won't show.
There is a special test, where they use a scraping from the inside of your cheek to test the cells.

Really, it's simpler just to try the magnesium and see if it helps.

I had blood work done, and all blood work was normal, except Kidneys, and cholestoral...
Will this show up in normal blood work, or is this something that would need special bloos work?

Muscle cramps can be a symptom of magnesium deficiency.
There is alot of information about this online, and in books.

Common Conditions That May Result from Low Magnesium Levels

Eat foods high in magnesium and take supplemental magnesium, and see if this helps.

Wishing you the best,
