chiari type 1

I have recently been dx with chiari type 1 with a 10mm herniation.  The pain in my neck and the headaches have become unbearable and to the point where darvocet won't even help.  I am scheduled to see a neurologist soon, but I am afraid that I will once again get the run-around.  I live in Michigan, does anyone know of a specialist in my area?

Thank you for responding!  So pretty much my appointment with the NL is going to be a waste of time since I have already been dx - why can't the dr. the dx have told me this - this is aggravating!  But by reading everyone else's comments, I realize that I am not alone and everyone has received the run around for some time.  I pulled the website up on the chiari center in WI, thank you so much, I think that is where I need to go next!  Again, thank you!

There is a chiari center in WI....sorry I do not know of one in Michigan.

I do invite u to join the chiari forum here on MedHelp.

ANd once u have a dx, u should see a NS , not a NL...the NL dx's and the NS treats.
