electroencephalogram

I had a eeg done  the reason was for seiZure  .
It says a standard 10-20 system was used to record an eeg
the entire egg consisted of four to six hertz medium to
large voltage activity distributed symmetrically. No
epileptiform activity was seen. photic stimulation was not performed  hyperventilation was not performed

impresion  abnormal electroencephallogram
continous slow generalized this can be seen in
diffuse encephalopathy consisitent with postictal
states metabolic toxic encephalopathies.

what does all this mean , I only has the one seiZure
and had none since 3 months ago .what is
postictal
states metabolic toxic encephalopathies.
just what is this eeg saying i don't
understand it or my doctor . what could be
wrong

The EEG results imply that they found no evidence for a seizure problem. We measure the brainwaves, and normal brain waves should be above 8 hertz. Your brains waves were slower. This could indicate a mild confusional state. This could be do to abnormal blood electrolytes or possibly medication. You should ask your doctor which he/she thinks it is. Good luck.
