head pressure

I have had pressure in my head for at least 3 weeks now.  It is mostly in the front of my forehead, sometimes in the back.  The first week I noticed it I had no other symptoms then I got a cold for about a week. The cold cleared up then I got a sore throat and my ear heart deep inside on the same side as a white spot in the back of my throat.  Today those symptoms are getting better but the pressure and bounciness in my head are still there.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hopefully by now you've been to the ER to rule out a severe stroke which does occur in the young as well as the not so young.  My mom had a major stroke and was self medicating for years her headaches until she had a stroke.  Not trying to scare you, but you should know that if you check into any ER they have to rule this out, and heart disease as well, tumors etc..  I've been scanned from head to toe, and suffer with spinal stenosis migraines often that is debilitating.  I cannot give you medical advice except to go to er if yur still having these symptoms for your life ok..and even if yur not go anyway and see neuro as well don't leave the hospital without a neurologist that takes your insurance often referrals are just arbitrarily given to save time.  Ice packs, and look at your diet.  Stress can bring on all sorts of symptoms only you know what is going on in your life.  Blessings,  Patty

Thanks for using the forum. I am happy to address your questions, and my answer will be based on the information you provided here. Please make sure you recognize that this forum is for educational purposes only, and it does not substitute for a formal office visit with a doctor.

Without the ability to examine and obtain a history, I can not tell you what the exact cause of the symptoms is. However I will try to provide you with some useful information.

Without further information about your headache, it is difficult to provide you with adequate information. However, it is important for you to understand that if you have not experienced headaches in the past and you are now having new head pains, seeing a neurologist is a good idea, just to make sure there is nothing serious causing this pain. Imaging of the brain and sometimes then neck may be indicated depending on your exact symptoms, your physical examination, and other factors. However, for now, I suggest you follow up with your primary care physician. You may have a post-viral/infection headache that may need antibiotics or supportive care.

Thank you for this opportunity to answer your questions, I hope you find the information I have provided useful, good luck.
