Hi,
just want a second opinion or perhaps a layman's explanation of the ultrasound report we've gotten from the hospital.
Report of ultrasound done at birth:
* Sacral skin tag 3mm, 0.5 cm above anus.
The conus medullaris is normal is appearance but ends low at L4/L5 level.
Normal cord pulsations are noted
The filum terminale is not thickened.
No meningocoele or lipomatous lesion is seen.
Report of ultrasound done at 1.5 months:
The conus medullaris ends at the level of L3 - L4. This is low lying.
There is normal tapering of the cord.
The filum terminale appears slightly thickened.
No intraspinal mass is seen.
