Have you had an MRI done? I suffered with bad feet and that crawly feeling for years as well as a number of seemingly unrelated symptoms..insomnia, acid reflux and tummy issues, balance problems, inner ear and sinus problems, throat problems.. and surprise surprise when the doctor had me get an MRI thinking it may have been MS (dizzy spells and constant nausea are a newer development that led to this) turns out I have Chiari Malformation type 1.. and that all of those problems are somehow possibly related.. we're still checking out all of this stuff but it never before seemed to have any real.. cause.. Hopefully this makes some sense to you because I'm only running on 4 hours or so of sleep today.. sorry. Good luck finding out what's going on.. don't just buy into the anxiety/depression diagnosis for everything.. keep fighting till you get an answer =]
Dear Aladdin,
Sorry, but I gotta disagree with yourself on anxiety causing your symptoms. I've got anxiety AND your bad feet, and I never had no tingling and stinging on my scalp or body. On the other hand, anxiety makes the heart beat faster, thus my idea about circulation is still valid, so next time you get that wierdness, try deep breathing, slows down the heart. I forgot to mention the possibility of diabetes, you may wish to have some labs done.
Dear Silverwings,
As long as you aren't falling down all over the place, slow reflexes are not exactly abnormal, but you could have a neuro run an EMG test where they test neuromuscular activity, to make sure your legs aren't going to just freeze up one day. Me, I got hyper reflexes, my right leg near 'bout hits the doc every time they tap it with that hammer, and I reckon it means something... I do limp and have trouble walking, but it's because of where I fractured my spine, so could be your arthritic back is affecting your reflexes a tad. But I only have ideas on that issue, which you asked for. I haven't studied it carefully.

I took a D.O.T. physical just last week and I got my physical card but am wondering why my reflexes in my knees did not pop out like most people do when tapped by the rubber hammer. It was like they were not working and I am wondering if they are no longer working what could be wrong with me. I do have arthritis in my lower back. Can you give me any ideas?
The feet issue has everything to do with you standing around for hours. But the tingling body thing, while it could be neurological (your spine may be a wreck from work), I think it actually might be your heart, which your family doc should be able to narrow it down. You know, my pharmacist had a heart attack about six months ago... I'm sure it's coincidence, but still, it just struck me how you are the same kind of doc. Get in to see a physician as an emergency squeeze-in appointment, becuz heart stuff is nothing to fool around with. Also, investigate the need for better shoes and perhaps support socks. Lastly, you sound so weary, I hope you rest well and are not doing those 12-hour shifts too many days in a row... start planning a vacation.
