brachial plexus nerve block/ hand surgery

I had a brachial plexus nerve blick done 2 and a half weeks ago for my surgery on my first knuckle on my middle finger.  The block came out, but my fingers that my medial nerve controls are still numb, tingling, and has alot of shooting pain.  I am off at college and 4 hours away from my dr.  We have been talking by phone and he thinks i have carpal tunnel,  Can someone please tell me how i could have came into surgery with out it and now have it?  I cant figure it out and neither can the dr.  He says these are the symptoms of carpal tunnel, but is lost on how i could have gotten it.  Someone please give me some feed back on this Thanks so much

I have finals all this week... I am going to see my dr. on thursday, and i hope he tells me to get a NCV or I will have my family dr. write one.  Another thing that is werid is when i extend my arm out to the side i feel tingling in my palm and fingers.  Would that tingling right there set it away from carpa tunnel... Thanks for your help hope to hear from you soon about what would have cause the carpal tunnel.  I will write you back as soon as I see the dr!  Thanks for all your help again!

Hi burgio,
When have you met the doctor last? During the procedure, if there was too much of manipulation is done at he site of operation, then this can lead to edema and further compression on median nerve. Alternatively, in our last post, I had asked regarding NCV test and to start treatment ASAP, has that been started?
I would try to find reasons for your Carpel tunnel and keep you informed, but you should not delay treatment.
Bye.
