Hi there. Morton’s neuroma is a thickening of nerve tissues between the toes affecting the nerve that travels between the third and the fourth toes. Non-surgical measures include padding and taping the toe area, shoe insert, change of footwear, anti inflammatory medicines, nerve blocking medicines injected into toe area, physical therapy etc. surgery may be required in some cases to remove the thickened tissue. Numbness after surgery is to be expected but it should not be painful. Hope this helps and answers your concerns to some extent. Take care.
