mri of lumbar spine

need interpretation of results.  its states that i at the L 4-5 has approx. 4-5 mm concentric disc bulge.  mild ligamentum flavum hypertroghy is identified.. spinal canal is narrowed at a level measuring 10 in anteropsterior diameter.   it goes on.  i have been in horrific pain.  and have had difficulting even walking.  What is your opinion on this short result not all info.  Could this be permanate,  its quite scary.  thanks sue

Hello.

The MRI is quite clearly stating that you need immediate action. And I don't think a non surgical treatment will be sufficient.

The MRI states that the L4-L5 disc has protruded out and is pressing on the cord. Other things like ligamentum flavum hypertrophy are secondary at this stage.

Please consult your spine surgeon and discuss the option of surgical correction.
