numbness and pain on the left side of body with headaches

hi, i'm a 19 year-old college student from the philippines. i have been diagnosed with mvp last january. a month before that, i have been experiencing pain, and numbness on my left chest and arm. it went away after 3 weeks but now the pain and numbness is coming back. the left side of my head would start to hurt so much then the whole left side of my body would feel numb or painful. i have seen 3 different doctors and they all insist that it is just a mvp syndrome but i don't believe them. the left side of my body would hurt or would become numb with or without palpitations. please help me... i'm scared and i don't know what's wrong with me.

from katrina39.  i experienced the sameproblems you are going through and was diagnosed at firstwith mini strokes, but later after seeing my neurologist and many many tests, it was determined that i have migraine headaches.  go to a neurologist, and get checked out, you maybe going through the same thing.  i know they are frightening, i was scared to death, but now i am topomax 100mg, and the headaches are pretty much under control, and no other side effects.  good luck, god bless...

Hello Dear,
The MVP syndrome is associated with a slight imbalance of the nervous system
In mitral valve prolapse syndrome, there is a slight imbalance of the autonomic nervous system causing our delicate, fine-tuned nervous system to be out of sync. We can have too much "speeding up" or too much "slowing down" at inappropriate times, with inappropriate nervous response to stimuli, for no apparent reason. Approximately 40-60% of symptomatic MVP patients suffer from panic attacks. MVP is not life-threatening but may be lifestyle threatening.
With proper education, lifestyle modification, and individual treatment, symptoms can be alleviated and even eliminated
