NCV & EMG findings (please help)

Hello,

I am new to med help and just trying to find better answers to few questions I have.  Trying to keep this to a minimum I will start with spinal cord contusion @ C3 C4 in 08, foot drop in both sides, ACDF @ C3 C4 in April of this year and at times unbearable leg pain on both sides.  I have had EMG on legs and hands, arms.  Supposed carpal tunnel on hands (Only after contusion did hands and arms hurt) and the new one which states chronic mild lumbar radiculopathy in both legs.

My legs are just to the point where I cant stand all the time at work.  It has gotten to the point where traffic is the worse pain ever from working my ankles with the brake n gas.  Chiro has helped me sleep at night (better than Lyrica) from the horrible shooting pains from upper leg to toes.  I have looked up as much info as I can find and just cant come to the conclusion the leg pain, numbness and cramping is chalked up to this study.

Please see below:

1. Left superficial fibular sensory nerve reduced amplitude 1.6
2. Left fibular F wave prolonged latency 56.23ms
3. Right fibular F wave prolonged latency 56.23ms
4. Left tibial F wave has prolonged latency 53.63
5. H reflex indicates both right and left has prolonged latency 36.09ms

What was done in the past (surgery) is done.  However if you are unhappy with your current Neurosurgeon, you can always get a 2nd opinion and ask for PT or anything else to help alleviate your pain.  I am  very sorry to hear that you are in so much discomfort, but do not give up.

Yes Foggy2 I do see a  Neurosurgeon.  I had the fusion done on my neck early this year and seen him for this also.  He done an MRI and said I have grade 1 to possibly 2 lumbar spinal stenosis, L4 & L5 mild diffuse bulge with associated facet and ligamentous hypertrophy.

I am told my legs should not be hurting this bad...  I have tried PT, Decompression and prescriptions without much help.  I would rather never have surgery again if at all possible and hoped someone may have dealt with this and won the battle with supplements and PT..

Thanks for responding!

Welcome to the forum.  Are you seeing a Neurosurgeon about your problems as well.  If not, I suggest you do.  Spinal contusions can lead to other problems if not now then down the road. Your EMG is abnormal, which usually indicates nerve involvement.  Talk to your doctor or chiro. about seeing a good Neurosurgeon.
