Hi there. There are no particular instructions following radical nephrectomy. Foods to be limited are those, which can irritate the urinary tract like fruit juices, spicy foods, very acidic foods, decreased intake of salt, and protein since these might be hard on the one kidney that is remaining. Pear nectar, can be taken. a well balanced diet is encouraged to promote healing and good bowel action. Avoid constipation by drinking 6-8 water glasses, increase roughage in diet, prune or orange juice, and over the counter laxative etc. hope these help. Take care.
