spots on brain w/ swelling?

my mom has 2 spots on her brain and some swelling of the brain. what could be causing this?. she hasnt had any injury to the head or anything. what else could cause the swelling and spots.

my mother has been suffering from severe headaches, confusion, sickness to stomach, and dizziness for the past two years. and she has had 1 mri and 2 ct scans. which had showed the spots and swelling. she had went to a neurologist and they said they have no idea what is causing the swelling and spots. plus they dont even know if she is really having a headache. what could be her problem??

This is a very vague description of the symptoms or medical condition or the findings of any kind of neuroimaging. You have not mentioned any symptoms if your mom is suffering from or any other details of the scan.

CT and MRI scans can show several findings like hyperintensities, hypointensities, swelling, white matter abnormalities hemorrhage to detect trauma, neurological deficits, cerebral palsy, medical conditions like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, etc.

But the findings  are always interpreted in correlation with the symptoms. You should consult your neurologist for proper diagnosis.
