ACDF surgery

I am about to have ACDF on two levels in a month.  Am wondering what to expect after the surgery short and long-term.  I am very nervous!  Also wondering about driving as I am a mother of 2, who needs to get kids to and from school.  I am having the graft taken from my sternum, instead of my hip.

The only thing you should expect is that you will be much better...
you surely need the surgery, and thats why you were qualified to.. but why from the sternum.. is it a new method, it seems to me just less esthetic.. if you can suggest let him take it from the hip, as our teacher Cloward's teach us

He says it is a lot less painful from the sternum, just not as nice looking.  He says that he has had patients get it from the hip and have hip pain for life.  He says the sternum is virtually painless.
