Head Injury

Hi, My wife suffered a road accident 18 months back. She underwant 2 craneotomy and hematoma evacuation and later after 3 months a VP shunt and later a surgery for correcting the shunt.

She occasionally follows moving objects with her eyes and some times offers hand with difficulty when a hand is offered to her. For few days she is awake for longer period of time and responds slightly better like following moving objects more or moving her hands more easily. However, she had not obeyed any voice command or has emotinoally reacted to things happening around her. She is stable and has a tracheostomy.

She is in which state , is it MCS or a vegetative stare?
What is the best improvement possible now?
Can she ever gain any emotional senses?

please dont count on a miraculous improvement, I just support you in this answer; try to find and to give her the kast resort of  medications:
Cerbrlysine 10 mg intravenous daily for 20 days
Citicholine oral solution 2 ml 3 times daily for 6 months
Vimpozine 1 tab each morning for 6 months
please this as my personal opinion, during this longterm treatment many independent events could happen in her life.
best wishes
