Second opinions for a Herniated disc treatment

I have a herniated disc at L4-5 and am scheduled for micro diskectomy on May 26th.I have had pain in my right calf and now I have only numbness and only a small loss of function in my Right leg. Dr N. can I get conservative treatment to get function in my Leg back? I have no patellar reflex in my Right Knee. Will Micro-disckectomy weaken my spinal column in some way? Is it possible that my MRI was a little exaggerated? It had several descriptions like
"extrusion" and annular tears.I have no pain and only slight discomfort at times.
Any suggestions?

Sorry because Neurosurgery-Medhelp-Forum is not adapted for Emergency answers, thats because I am the only Surgeon here !!!

So :-) . Yes you can do your surgery and dont postpone it, because you need to save your nerve form a chronic damage !
BUT microdiscectomy could be not a sufficient step to end with this type of problems and recurrence is quiet high. Anyways nothing to loose, Do it for now it is a minor surgery !
