cant stop obsessing

I recently posted on here about my OCD when it comes to my health. I was hoping to hear from more people. I am 44 years old and have suffered with OCD since I was in my late twenties. I seperated from my husband four months ago and I am having a very difficult time with it. I began obsessing about having mouth cancer and then breast cancer. I have what I think is probably a stretch mark on my breast, there is also a few freckles next to it. When I look down at it , it looks more discolored then when I lift the breast and look at it. The point is that I keep looking at it!! And it is causing so much anxiety. I read something about imflammatory breast cancer, which can start with a red area. the mark I have is pink and vertical and unchanging. The damn thing is always there. I first noticed it in early March and soon after made an appt with doc but still afraid to go the doctor because I am afraid of what he will say. After this goes away something else will come up I know it will. Sometimes I get so emotionally exhausted and I start crying, that helps. I try spending alot of time keeping busy and being with my freinds and my kids. I dont know why I am so sad if it is the seperation from my husband or the fear of having breast cancer. I hate this feeling and sometimes I just want to die. I hate this OCD!!!! I talk to a councelor and I take medication (Lexapro) but it still happens I still worry. I have ran to doctors so many times in the past. Sometimes I scare the doctors and they end up doing tests that are probably unnessasary. If anyone can relate please write to me. I need to talk to someone who goes through the same thing. Please respond.. thanks

Hai madam;

See, You Know that You have OCD ,and also the thoughts will be comming to your mind.

I suggest that ,you to be brave and tell to yourself  that, the thoughts that are coming to your mind ,are because of OCD, And its not real .

And nothing is going to happen .

thanks

Sounds like you have tried mostly all you can think of right?

What if you just go through and visualize the worse and see it as therapy.
What if you image coming down with all those horrible things?
Image the illnesses one by  one, how awfully it would consume your life.
Cry it out, image how your family, friends, etc would be affected.
Go through it in your mind and focus on how you feel physically and mentally, even spiritually, because you said you were Christian.

Now, choose an outcome.  Do you die or do you live?
You choose the ending.
I know its scary but, this what you need. You are allowing this obsession to control your entire life and the more you tease the more you lose the battle. Stop playing aroung and go through it!
Face your fears and choose once and for all your outcome!
You are alive now, remember to live your life to the fullest because one day you will die.

Hi Tara.

I am in a similar situation to yours, I have OCD concerning HIV, it's horrible, I'm going through a really bad time. I posted a topic on here, I'd appreciate if you read it to understand my issues. I am a male so cannot relate to your breast cancer issues, but believe me, I always feel symptoms of things and am always worrying about my health.

I've been too scared to see Doctors or anything, I keep thinking I can deal with it, but I'm starting to doubt it. If you need anyone to talk to I'll be here to try and help.

Will.
