You need to find somebody who is. It is really important that the therapist know how to teach cognitive behavioral therapy and that you are comfortable with whoever you choose to help you.
Oh yes, my mistake, I attented a psychologist, but yes, she wasn't specialized in OCD.
Psychiatrists are good for prescribing medication but it is the psychologists that teach cognitive behavioral therapy. I think you should find a psychologist that specializes in OCD.
Yes, attended for a while, sadly when i brought the topic of ocd up, it seemed that she wasn't as qualified in the topic, although she was a great psychiatrist overall.
That is a tough one. Most people think that if they don't do something a certain way, that something bad will happen to them or someone they love. I'm not really sure how to help you with this one since these are more depression issues that you are afraid of.
Have you been to see a psychologist?
I feel like I will do bad in areas of life I care about. For example, I feel like I will have no energy, have feelings of depression again, won't be able to have a good time with my girlfriend.
So if you don't do the exercises in a certain way, you feel that something bad will happen? Anything specific or just something bad?
