Trouble with Decisions

It is not necessarily that I cannot make decisions, but that when I make a choice something inside me will tell me to make a different one with no rhyme or reason as to why.  Like when I am getting dressed and want to wear the pink top, then all the sudden I must wear the green.  Almost every decision is like this....sounds crazy I know...Is it a possible form of OCD?

Thank you very much. As silly as this sounds it feels good to hear that I'm not crazy. I will probably not seek out a professional, but I will do some research on cognitive behavioral therapy.

The reality is that there really is no reason but one that you have made up in your head.  That is how irrational thinking works.  It is almost like a ritual for you.  If you don't do it, then you think something bad will happen.  And I'm sure it applies to more than just a shirt.

I can't diagnose you on the forum but since you are on here posting, then I am going to assume that you are sick of this thought process and want to change it.  The only way to do that is to seek out a therapist and learn cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).  Doesn't mean you are crazy but just means that you are stuck in a thought process and don't have the tools to get out of it.  All of us on here have needed a professional in our lives at one time or another.

Yes, and I am constantly wondering that because I didn't wear that particular top I am somehow changing the course of my life negatively.  All day I'm wondering what if.  Like even though I don't know the reason as to why I have to make that choice, I know that there is a reason and I HAVE to go with that choice.

What happens if you don't switch tops?  Have you ever tried "whatever" and walked out the door with the original top on?
