Pain in my mandibular condyle

I am having an unbelievable amount of tingling pain in the right side of my face on my mandibular condyle. It is a tingling pain and just started today. It has happened in the past but then went away. Well today it seems to want to just stick. I pressed on it and if felt like little air bubbles in my jaw but the pain still persisted. I am a medical student and still don't know all to much about this stuff. I need some type of advice as to what I can do to relieve my pain or if there may be an underlying problem.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Based upon your description several possibilities exist.  Namely, traumatically induced capsulitis, synovitis, and internal derrangement.  Rarely, infections can occur as well.

In any case, strict soft diet, jaw rest and NSAIDS if not contraindicated for now and schedule an appointment with a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon asap.

I want to add that my jaw doesn't click at all. I know my sister has TMJ and her jaw sticks sometimes and pops.
