Im back

I havent been on for a while with any questions but have cought up on reading everyones posts.  I hope everyone is doing well.

To refresh:  I post for my Mom with ovca 3c and she is now finishing her 6 cycles for recurrence in the lymph node.  She was in remission for a year.  With her recurrence she takes the same drugs as her first time carbo/taxotere but became very allergic to carbo after her first treatment so is now just taking taxotere in conjunction with her clinical trial bio drug Morab.  So far so good recent CT scan showed 80% decrease in disease.  We're all praying things will go well for her hopefully with another long remission.  In the meantime she developed gallstones which are very painful and needs them surgically removed after her treatments.  She is also developing edema in her wrists and ankles as she did her first time around except now we know how to handle it.  I think its from taxotere.
She is 47 and works every day still, except sundays, that keeps her healthy mentally which is the most important part.

Leslee is just on Doxil, tried to get them to do a combo with Eloxatin,  Mayo told her no.  The clinical test did not work.  If this does not work we are moving on to another facilty and new onocologists.  She thinks they stamped 2 years on her and are not trying hard enough.  I had my gall stones/bladder removed years ago by scope, it was a breeze, but then I was healthy as a horse then too.  Hope she gets along ok,  and that this does cause that remission

Fiana--welcome back. I am glad your Mom is doing well on the Taxotere. Yes, the taxotere is known to cause edema swelling. I am on that with Carbo and they warned me about it. Sorry to hear of the pain with her gallbladder. That's awful to have to deal with another part of your body.  It's great that she is working and staying busy. I was 47 when i was diagnosed.

I'm hoping she'll have a long remission also.

Best wishes--Helen
