8 year old anxiety/seperation
My 8 year old son has seperation issues when his mother leaves him for several hours even in the care of a close relative.
Initially he would complain of a sore stomach and cry for his mom.
More recently he has deveolped a twitch and does some strangee things with his head and mouth.
He does this even if his mom is around.
What could be causing this strange behaviour

More recently he has deveolped a twitch and does some strangee things with his head and mouth. - these are not behaviours usually found in children suffering from anxiety. Could you describe these two behaviours in more detail so that we might be better able to help you?
Well he could be doing it to get attention ,if you are concerned though ask the Doctor about the behavior. Is he seperated a lot from his Mother and do the people he stays with play games and stimulate him with activities ,or is he bored if he was busy and kept occupied he woudnt miss her so much,
