Are all 8 year old boys clumsy?

My grandson is 8 years old, plays sports, is a very active young man.  He is sometimes very clumsy, spilling one glass of beverage after another because he doesn't look at where he's putting it down to assess whether it's a good place or not.  This drives his mother crazy, which, of course, is cause for much nagging and "to do".  Can I tell her that he's not doing it to make her nuts, that he's just 8 years old?

Oh I agree tell your daughter spilling doesnt matter , I expect he'll help clear up ,do stay on his side and tell her to back off him if he has an accident,Sometimes he could be made nervous knowing he will get yelled at that makes it worse.she needs to count her Blessings. There are some of would adore to have our kids back, I still suffer the empty nest Syndrome horribly.

YES YES and YES!!!  I'm a mother of 3 boys 9 7 and 4 and ya know what just like most men they don't automatically think about there actions!!  She must remind them without nagging as I've found that nagging makes it worse.  Rather than the nagging when she gives him a drink remind him to keep it at the table or rather than stress tell her to go to walmart and buy him one of those cups with a straw my guys love them and they cost a couple of bucks (2.88 I think) tons out for summer!  Save herself the aggrevation.  It makes life much easier.
