Help - my 6yo thinks EVERYTHING is too tight or crooked.

I don't know what to do anymore. She throws these elaborat tantrums but ONLY about certain things. For example, she hates wearing pants because she thinks they are always too tight, falling down, or uneven. She hates braids & pony tails because she thinks they are - you got it; too tight or uneven. And she HATES getting buckled in her car seat because it's either too tight or uneven.

Those are pretty much the only times she throws these fits. Otherwise she's very well behaved. But if something is bugging her like that, it's a war. I've tried everything. She can wear her hair down, or wear skirts....but obviously has to do up her seatbelt. I'm wondering if this is some kind of disorder or if it's just a bit of 6-year old OCD. Not sure what to do. HELP.

I don't think it is OCD - probably sensory integration.  You will note that under the posting there are several posts which relate to this issue.  Hope this helps ...

Dont feed into it ,when she says her pants are too tight or uneven say nothing, and let her wear her hir loose if braids annoy her, my seat belt gets too tight aswell, she has to have it buckled so just do it, if you dont make a big issue of this kind of thing she is not getting any attention from it and also distraction works.
