pooping in the pool

I have a 7 1/2 year old who has a problem with pooping in pools. I know it's easy to say "just stop taking her","you're the parent so deal with it", etc.. however, if you're not the one going through it you can't know what it's like. She says she doesn't know it's happening and it doesn't happen all the time so is it fair to tell her she can't go in pools anymore? I make sure she goes to the bathroom before we get in the pool however, it doesn't always work. Does anyone have any helpful suggestion on what to do here?

Oh goodness.  Does she have trouble with bowel movements in general.  Really, you can't take her to a public pool if this is an issue.  It is not fair to the other swimmers.  I know it is an accident and unpredictale but none the less, if it happens on a consistent basis, you just can't do that to families using the same pool.

I don't really know what else to tell you.  If she's not getting the signal that she has to go and she is going (so GET OUT OF THE POOL), I'd wonder what other issues she is having with her nervous system.  Or I'd wonder if she is constipated and the water is having some kind of effect on her.

I'd talk to her doctor about this.

good luck and please don't be mad that I say stay away from public pools.  I have a 7 year old and an 8 year old and can imagine how hard this is.  good luck
