spitting up...

Whats considered normal? My son is 3 weeks old and spits up a little bit after pretty much every feeding, sometimes spits up more than other times. He has spit up twice now that was a large amount coming out of his mouth AND nose. Is this normal? He eats only breast milk. Im wondering if he has acid reflux, if its my milk, gas, or some other issue?

Does he arch his back or cry when you feed him pr put him on his back?If so its probably acid reflux. All babies get reflux but some are more severe. My son would spit up 1/3 of his bottle everytime and cry uncontrollably so he was put on medication. If the only side affect seems to be spitting up then your okay it will eventually slow down uually around 6months. You can always try raising the head of the bed which will help with reflux and gripe water is great to calm their tummys

My daughter does too. She's 8 weeks today and it's starting to slow down finally. It scared me so bad when it would come out if her nose. But yeah it's normal. You could try using gripe water (it's the only thing that settles my babys tummy), or try slowing his feedings down, like only pretty him nurse for 2 minutes then lightly burp him, or set him on his bottom and roll him in a circle/back and forth really slowly. That seems to be the only things that help my daughter.
