Metformin will only really give you side affects during the first 2 weeks....after that it should be good. I've noticed that when I wasn't following my diet, I got sick...mostly bathroom issues and nausea. Once I started eating better, the symptoms went away. It sounds like for you your pain was from the UTI and the other infection. My mom gets bad UTI's. She normally runs a fever, with chills, sweats, bad back pain, nausea and everything else. For me, I've only gotten a few UTI's and only suffered from the burning sensation. Did they say how big the cyst is? Make sure to follow up with your regular obgyn on this. You don't want the cyst to get even bigger then what it already is.

I've been on Metformin for about a year now, and have had no side effects. I take all three pills in the evening. I don't think that the symptoms you describe are associated with Metfromin... except for diarrhea. I know Metformin can possibly cause digestional issues. The best thing would be to call your doctor! Good luck!
