My guess is it's an endometrioma then. They will probably do a laparotomy then (an incision in you pelvic area). It probably depends on if you have other endometrial tissue growing in there (they can't see that on scans and won't know til they get inside) to know how extensive the surgery will be and what the recovery time will be like. I hope all goes well and there's not too much going on in there!

They have not informed me of what sort of cyst it is, I will find out this week.
The Dr has told me i will defo have to have it removed, yes when I say keyhole I mean a laparoscopy.

Usually cysts come and go based on your cycle. If they don't, I would assume it is an endometrioma (also called a chocolate cyst), meaning endometrial tissue that attached to your ovary. Have they told you the type of cyst it is? In other words, you may not need to have it removed because unless it's an endometrioma, it should resolve on it's own. By "too big for keyhole" do you mean a laparoscopy where they make a small incision in your belly button and to below on your pelvis?
