I am 39 with PCOS. I do not currently take anything for it except herbs to reduce testosterone. I might also be a tad underweight.
I have been told by my doctor that it is like it I have low estrogen due to the symptoms I was recently experiencing. I bought an over-the-counter cream of Estriol USP, which has less than .75% of Estriol per pea-sized amount. As soon as I used it on my abdomen, I began having the normal symptoms I would expect with my period, which brought me great relief. My flow was then normal. It had not been for two months. The next two days I used the cream on my arm, and then my inner thigh. When I used it on my arm, for a couple of hours I had muscle pain which then moved to my arm bone below the affected muscle. I also have problems on one side of my jaw, TMJ I suppose. I had wiped some of the cream on my neck because of thinning skin in that area. I then noticed an ache on that part of my jaw, that went away rather quickly.
I am wondering if the aches I have felt are a bad sign, or if they are a sign that I was lacking and maybe my body was making repairs with it.
