When do yall take it? I was told to take it at night y night time? Will I start bleedin while sleepin? I'm so confused abt havin pcos
I started met earlier this year and it did make me sick to my stomach. I kept taking it and after two or three months (500mg twice daily) the side effects were pretty much gone. You can't just stop and start whenever you want to or you'll never adjust to it.
I have been on Metformin ER 750mg for the past 2 months and am so glad that I have had no symptoms like any of you. I get my periods regularly every month, but sometimes off a few weeks here and there. I have had no problems. It is definitely nice to only have to take them 2 times a day instead of the 3. I do, however, always eat and then take my pills otherwise I have severe stomach problems. I don't know if that would help anyone having problems, but I'd thought I'd offer my experience.
I have been actively dealing with PCOS for a number of years now, but had it probably since I was about 19 years old. I am currently TTC. I am taking 500 mg/ day of Metformin & just started on Clomid last night. For those of you that are having difficulty taking the Metformin, I relate! It makes me feel horrible! I am sick to my stomach all the time & I seem to always have a headache. I also seem to get cramps & discomfort a lil more often, all of which makes me kinda cranky. I have been taking it non stop now since mid June & just toughing it out. My cycle began on Friday! Because the Metformin makes me so sick, my Dr. has decided that starting Clomid sooner is better & then if I don't get pregnant he will increase the Metformin to 1000 mg/ day.
Did your doc start you out at 1500mg? My doc started me on 500mg and then increased it to by 500mg every 2 weeks until I got to 1500mg/day. Ask your doc if you can start off at 500 then increase to 1500mg later. That should help a little or you can try the extended release tabs. I've noticed that I have mid cycle spotting and periods that are light bleeding/spotting now that I'm on metformin. They say it takes 6-12 months before improvement starts. I'm only on month 4 so I'm hoping it'll start leveling out in 2 months.
Good Luck
I too am on Metformin ER and lately I have been fant feelings, cramping and bleeding. I take 2000 mg per day, I am also a diabetic too. I discovered I had PCOS about a few months ago and the doctor said the metformin is suppose to help it resolve. I just have been experiencing alot of pain from it. I have never experienced the bleeding I just thought my period was coming on again. I made an appointment with my my OB doctor, will let yall know the findings.
How do you know that when u took the pills that cysts were bursting? I was wondering whats the random "clots" are that come up in my blood. Its kinda scary thinking that may be whats happening with me. Anyway, I once read upon someone saying there is a newer brand called Metformin ER (extended release) that is easier on the stomach, so maybe ask your doc about switching u to that kind (I may need to do so also). I also sometimes feel very dizzy lately off and on. I just wish I could have normal periods and ovulation. . . Wish u success in trying to conceive. . .
okay i kinda have the same problem as princessjazz413 they but me on the same pills at 500mgs a pill that i have to take up to 3 time daily but when ever i take them i have cysis that burst so i stop taken them because of the pain and that it makes me very ill i would feel fant dizzy and want to vomit sorry my spelling isnt verry well. but i would get my period on it but i havent taken it in the last six months and i still have not got one but im afraid of getting sick agian like i was before when i was on the medication so what should i do. should i go back and try them agian or get ahold of my doctor pls if any one has any information on this pls get ahold of me on here or by emailing princess_goth1818***@**** i am just worried that my husband and i cant have a baby like we both have been trying for the past year and still numthing its something that we both really want and have been trying for awhile now. thank u and if u can help thank u agian
my advice to you is to take the meds as perscribed by the doctor, this is a serious disease and is to be taken seriously. I wouldn't take metformin at random, take it as you should, whether it makes you bleed or not.
