PCOS and HSG

Hello Ladies,

I was diagnose PCOS for 1year now. My DR give me metformin, clomid and follic acid. I was stopping taking this medicine for a months because of losing hope and I think my gyno didn;t take it seriously. She just give this medicine and no any blood test and sperm count from my husband.

But then I have a friend she had PCOS too and now she's 3 months pregnant. she refer me to her gyno and we'll she gave me same medicine. metformin, clomid and dostinex. Me and my husband done with blood test, hormones test and sperm count for him. my husband had 12M but the normal is 20M up. My Prolactin (Serum) 22.80 and Progesterone (Serum) 0.25.

Tomorrow I will have my HSG. fingers crossed!

Do I have a good chance of getting pregnant after my hsg?

I will update when I get the result tomorrow. SIGH!

Baby Dust!

With the advent of IVF which bypasses the need for tubal function a more successful treatment approach has become available for women who want to conceive. IVF has now become the major treatment for women with hydrosalpinx to achieve a pregnancy.
its actually form of blocked of ovaries its no point using clomid at this stage. clomid is hormonal medication to induce ovulation. if ovaries are blocked even if you ovulate. egg will not be able to reach uterus.

i would say yours doctors are right you should straight be put on IVF list. or they should perform surgery on you to open blocked ovaries. you should have asked them to give you some options hun.
i am sorry you are going through this but best thing is you should ask them  why haven't they given you option to get a surgery done to open both ovaries so then you wil have more chances of getting pregnant with IVF.
