PCOS has taken so much from me

Hi everyone. I'm new here. I'm a 34 year old woman who was diagnosed with PCOS in 2004. I started getting the symptoms when I was about 20. I have all the tell tell symptoms and have pretty much put my health on the back burner until now. I'm tired of this syndrome affecting every aspect of my being. I have severe anxiety disorder that I assume has been caused or at least partially caused by this stuff. I have not been able to conceive and I am obese. I have tried and failed to get healthy many times. I have only been able to lose 40 pounds or so, then I hit a plateau and give up. I'm addicted to sugar and starches. I need motivation, and I need help. Could someone please tell me a good diet to follow? By the way, I can not make most doctors appointments due to me not driving.

I thoroughly enjoy the Paleo diet. As does my whole family. Even my 6 year old son will eat it & he is the pickiest eater. You are the only one who can make the necessary changes to get on the right path and remain there. You have to make you and your health a priority! First of all, get rid of all processed food. They are so full of preservatives that cause the sugar addiction. If you're going to cook with sugar, use it in its purist form!

Please do look into Paleo. Once you start, you'll realize you're not on a diet. Just a healthier way to eat without sacrificing good food! There are even recipes for sweets and treats (the coconut cake recipe is to die for).

Good luck! You deserve to feel good and enjoy life - not to have it controlled by PCOS!
