I tried clomid, it didn't do a thing. I tried fermera and took the trigger shot(to drop the egg) and boom got pregnant. I've done some research and my fertilty DR told me that clomid isnt as good for people with PCOS like fermera is. Also you have a less miscarriage risk with fermera. So id go with fermera.
i am 28 years old. i was diagnosed with pcos five or six years ago. i did take birth control for about 4 years and diet very well. i managed to lose 35 lbs. on my own. i stopped taking the pills two years ago and began taking herbal supplements for a year or so. managed to lose more weight and was feeling great. my periods were regular for about six months. then i missed my period. my doctor thought it was because i was on and off the birth control. he did an ultrasound. turned out i was six and half weeks pregnant. now i am nine and a half weeks.
I started half a pill a day so 250mg a day of metformin and then after a week 2 half a day etc until I get to 1500mg a day. Its supposed to be a slow process to avoid side effects. Im still getting side effects on only half a pill but its minor and my body will eventually adjust to the meds once im at the full dose. My RE told me to take the meds slow and it dosent matter if it takes months to get to my full dose its better to start slow so you dont get sick or have horrible side effects. And it seems to be working. But you cant expect no side effects unfortunatly... I know it will help me in the long run so im sticking to it!
Ive been to metformin for only 2 weeks. Then i stopped taking it bcoz i feel dizzy.. Aftr one year.. I got pregnant. No meds taken for me to concieve. Just keep on praying.. It will help u a lot.
Metformin only has bad side affects if you: don't start with a small dose first, and then work your way up to the higher dose OR if you don't watch the fat content in your foods. I've been on it 2 years and never had bad side affects.
Metformin has horrible side effects, but maybe they will be different for you...
Metformin alone, will not help you to ovulate. Are you overweight? It will help to lose weight, if your watching what your eating and for some over a period of time can make the menstrual cycle more normal. Clomid is not good for those who have pcos because it can stimulate too many eggs and then futher complications can arise. I've heard of allot of women trying Femera instead. Success right? I don't know. I've never taking any of those medications, I'm only on Metformin and birth control for now. Ovulating on cd27...well it's good and bad. Good at the fact you DID ovulate, but bad as you ovulated after cd21. I have heard/read that the quality of the egg goes down if you ovulate late.
