abnormal bleeding

I have PCOS and I am taking 1500mg of metformin since April 09. In may I started mid cycle spotting but know I have abnormal bleeding every 2 weeks. My cycle is suppose to be 30-33 days but now it is 16-19 days. I went to the doc and she said it was just hormones well it's very weird. I'm not ovulating and now I'm bleeding twice a month. ***** to be me right now. My RE wants me to have a lap to be checked for endo. Have any of you guys experienced this? Any sugestions to what could possibly be causing this would be greatful.
P.S. I lost 3lbs go me!!!

I just got off birth control earlier this year bc we were ttc. I had an us in may and everything looked fine 1 fibroid but it  was small and doc said not to worry about it.  I'm going to a new doc to see what can be done. I don't want to go on bc pills because I want to ovulate. It's weird.

Yes you should be checked to make sure you dont have endo. Have you thought about going on birth control to try to give your body a break from bleeding to much? Your doctor is right that it is your hormones....HOWEVER, she needs to do something about it, so you can live your life better without bleeding so much. If you dont have endo, then I would try birth control pills for a little while. Try Yasmin (and if you cant take hormones, try the Copper IUD). Yasmin works well with PCOS, plus you can still lose wegith while on Yasmin. Your PCOS is causing your abnormal bleeding. You could also have cysts too. Have you had an ultrasound recently?
