I have suffered so much over the past three years and I should certainly hope that IF there is a god, he had nothing to do with it!  You need to treat your PCOS and your fibroids if you want to get pregnant - THAT'S how you will get pregnant, not by some magical being in the sky waving a magic wand and granting your wish!

I have to say that fibroids and a misshapen womb are the two things I DON'T have, but I do have two stories of hope for you.  We ttc for three years.  I had three surgeries in a year and a half and each time they'd find something new.  First (before the surgeries) I was diagnosed with PCOS, then endometriosis and adenomyosis, and finally asherman's syndrome - a rare condition where scar tissue lines the inside of the uterus.  Because of the adenomyosis, my pain got so terrible I couldn't function anymore.  I could not hold down a job.  We did 7 months on clomid, 2 IUI's, 2 IVF's and had several early miscarriages.  The best I could do was hold onto a pregnancy for 3 days.  I went to a specialist thinking he'd help me, and he told me I needed a hysterectomy.  I was devastated but couldn't give up without one more try, but I didn't think I had any fertility treatments left in me.  Instead, I begged him to do ovarian drilling, so I could ovulate on my own.  He also cleaned up my uterus inside and out so everything was good to go.

The first month after surgery I ovulated on my own.  The second month worked and I am now 6 1/2 months pregnant with a healthy pregnancy!

Are your fibroids operable?  If so, I'd suggest having them removed and make sure you're treating your PCOS.  Then you just need to ovulate...

As far as the misshapen uterus, my best friend's cousin has what is called unicorn uterus.  It is only half the size of a normal uterus.  She was told it was next to impossible to have a baby.  She did IVF only because she had to absolutely avoid any risk of multiples, because at best there was only room for one.  When you think of how a normal uterus can accommodate 3, 4 even EIGHT babies, it makes sense that one half the size could still hold one.  She did end up delivering about a month early, but her baby is perfectly healthy!

I think that often there are ways around just about anything.  The best thing you can do is EDUCATE YOURSELF, advocate for yourself, and make sure you have someone who knows what they are doing to give you the best care possible.  I had to learn a lot on my own because the doctors didn't know anything.  And when one said "I don't know" I'd move on and find someone else.  I went through 5 doctors in those three years - I had a different doctor for each of my 3 surgeries.  Eventually I found one who helped me.

Best of luck to you and let me know if you have any questions!

Yes it is possible. I was diognosed with PCOS in 1988 when i was 18. My husband and I tried desperately to try to concieve for 9 years. I was told because of my PCOS that it was unlikely I would ever concieve. We gave up thinking it was God"s will. 1 Year later I was pregnant. Four years later God blessed us with another miracle. And 8 years later, I am now 40 and pregnant (surprise!) with my 3rd. Please never give up. But i do believe that all the stress I put on myself and my DH is what stopped us from concieving, not the PCOS. Give it time, and God will bless you with a beautiful miracle.
